Fetal Medicine and Prenatal Genetics Center of Excellence, provides compassionate, comprehensive assessment and treatment planning of inherited conditions and a wide range of fetal disease including twin-twin transfusion syndrome, fetal airway obstruction, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and congenital diaphragmatic hernia. The cross functional team, includes maternal-fetal medicine (high-risk pregnancy) specialists, reproductive endocrinologists, ultrasonographers, sonologists, neonatologists, geneticists, genetic counsellors, obstetricians, and nurses.  Fetal medicine center of excellence provides seamless coordination, treatment planning and advice for infants requiring treatment before birth (such as fetal blood transfusions, laser, or fetal surgeries) hypoplastic (underdeveloped) left heart syndrome, twin-twin transfusion syndrome (intrauterine blood transfusion from one twin to the other), fetal airway obstruction, and congenital diaphragmatic hernia (hole in the diaphragm). Ideally Women with hypertension, diabetes, a prior stillbirth, or when concerns for fetal growth are present benefit from additional fetal monitoring during the later stages of pregnancy.
